Electric Operations Department OverviewThe men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California.
Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Job Summary The Electric Incident Investigations (EII) team performs electric and ignition incident investigations that are critical to PG&E's mission to reduce electric asset related risk on our system.
The responsibilities of this team include preparation and timely submittal of incident reports to the CPUC and to PG&E Electric Operations leadership, responding to data requests, reporting on investigation findings, and developing recommendations for preventing recurrence of the root causes of incidents.
The Ignitions Investigations team within EII is a diverse group of analysts and/or investigators that lead medium to high complexity ignition investigations, interview first responders, gather data, and present findings to the CPUC and/or Senior Leadership.
This team also supports PG&E's Wildfire Risk Command Center by delivering ignition insight and corrective actions to assist risk reduction and further the Company's mission of eliminating catastrophic wildfires.
The successful candidate is mission-driven, analytical, and can build relationships with stakeholders to support goal-execution.
Job Responsibilities Investigates ignition events.
Responsibilities include reviewing inspections data, interviewing PG&E first-responders, collecting external fire reports, formulating corrective actions, and producing a report to conclude the investigation and provide value to the company's mission.
Works with the leadership of other PG&E departments that are contributors to or stakeholders of the ignitions investigation process to develop and maintain departmental roles and responsibilities including the Hazard Awareness Warning Center, Electric Maintenance and Construction, Electric Asset Strategy, Corrective Action Program (CAP), Data Response Unit, Claims, Electric Standards, and Inspections.
Maintains high level of stakeholder satisfaction.
Ensures team understands client needs and that project work/product/service meets client expectations, especially how output will be used downstream.
Ensures regular and effective stakeholder communication.
Typically interfaces with client groups at the individual contributor through the Manager or Director level.

Qualifications:
MinimumBA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience Seven (7) years of related work experienceExperience in Investigations, Analysis/Trending/Metrics, Engineering, Construction or working in an analytical environment and/or related education.
DesiredExperience with technical report writingAbility to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problemsExcellent oral (phone and in-person) and written (e-mail, presentation, dashboard summaries) communication skills, including presentations and the communication with Troublemen/field workersBA/BS in Engineering, Business, Science or job-related discipline or equivalent work experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
